Château-fort de Lassay

Castle fort of the fifteenth century remarkable for its homogeneity and its state of preservation, the castle of Lassay is formed of 8 towers connected by curtain walls and crowning a rock.

A monumental barbican with 3 floors of defense protects the drawbridges, while its main courtyard is home to the oldest houx in France.
As part of the guided tours, you will discover the functioning of a military garrison of the fifteenth century and the ingenious responses given to the development of artillery at the end of the Middle Ages.

The guide will open the furnished rooms, bedroom, weapons room, kitchen with its curious granite kitchen garden and a beautiful collection of old brass ... and you will cross the story to through the evocation of the successive owners of the castle.
Visitors are invited to participate in the opening and closing of the drawbridge.

A dense program of events of living history and others, more surprising, unfolds throughout the season.
